Another...Another no start....sorry
Ok, I've viewed TGO for some time now, and I've read through almost all the no start threads i can find. But unfortunately my car won't start.
I have an '85 Trans Am with a 305 TPI. I bought the car from a guy and he said it had been sitting for a few years and the reason was he couldn't get any spark. So after some testing I found that it was the ICM. Then discovered the fuel pump was out, replaced it (and yes I got rid of the old fuel). The car would start but had to use starting fluid. Plugs and wires all new distributor cap, coil, rotor, and ESC. At this point it was still starting but rough so i changed the fuel filter, and FPR.
Now I have spark and fuel pressure is at 43 psi with key on and while cranking. The injectors all test ok. But now it cranks hard and won't start I pulled all the plugs and made sure they weren't fouled and that they had spark they were all fine. I checked the TPS and it works as it's supposed to. After i did that the SES light (which had been on the whole time) was gone and won't come on with ignition on (bulb is ok). All the fuses are good.
I'm at my wits end idk where to go next. The only thing left that i haven't touched is the ECM. From what I've seen you guys have some patients with rookies so I figured I'd give it a try. Any help (or sarcasm
) is appreciated.

Did you test to see if fuel is actually physically coming out of your injectors and getting into your chambers?
Your plugs should have been wet from fuel from all of the no-start attempts.
Once wet they are unlikely to fire again unless you use a Propane torch to cook the fuel from the insulator at the tips, or replace the plugs.

There is fuel getting to the plugs and I cleaned them when I put them back in with no progress.

Have you tried unplugging the power wire to your cold-start injector?
Opening the throttle to 70% or more will put the ECM into clear-flood mode, if you think that might help with start-up.
You also might want to check your CTS resistance, or better yet with a scan-tool or datalogger.

Does the ecm do the 2sec prime of the fuel pump when you first turn the key to the on position? If its getting fuel to the plugs then the next thing to check would be spark, but along with spark the timing should be checked too. If the SES light was on but isnt anymore then that could of just blew the bulb since it had been on constantly or maybe your having problems with the ECM. Another check is to turn the key and listen for the pump to turn on and shut off. Then turn the key to start for just a sec and listen to see if it turned the pump on. If it did then your ECM is getting the reference signal from the distributer telling it that its rotating.
