Well I just bought a 1986 IROC Z28 is has a 305tpi and a 700r4.... The engine smokes so I figure I wouldnt waste money on rebuilding a 305 and just upgrade to a 350...

i have a vortec 350 out of a 1997 chevy pickup that needs rebuilt and I was just thinking about rebuilding it and using all the tpi injection on it... I thought about just getting the heads redrilled for the old intake style bolt pattern but after looking at the runners I think the vortec runners will be too long?

I was woundering is if anyone has used one of the tuned port SDPC or edelbrock lower intake for vortec heads? Do they work good? any problems with them?

Is there anything else i halfto worry about/change running the tpi injection on a vortec 350?

You are also in for a lot of work changing the injectors, getting the ECM prom reworked for a 350 and possibly changing over to a SD system which means re-pinning the harness, getting 1227730 ECM and a 350 SD Memcal to run it.

 

yea i planned on using the 24lb injectors i took out of my lt1 I thought they would be plenty? and just getting a custom chip from like pcm for less

Hi guys, I just bought an 85 t/a from a guy that has put a stock 96 350 vortec engine in it. He has put the vortec tpi base and stock runners, and he said new stock injectors. Was originally a 305 tpi. No computer upgrades. It has two injectors (#3 & 5 ) that i think is bad, i can unplug them and it doesnt affect the engine at all. Engine has a definite skip. Was going to buy a set of 22lb injectors hoping to solve the skip problem. Will the engine run ok with having to buy chip or upgrading computer?? just a street car.
