cleaned up my Accel Street Ram

This weekend I spent some quality time with the bead blaster, some 70 grit abrasive media and my Accel Street Ram. No more dull polish job for me - stealthy stock looking now

Before:

After:

I can't confirm it, but I'm pretty sure the plenum is the Accel ported piece. The TB openings are 58mm and the runner openings are 46mm. The runners themselves appear to be unmodified as does the base. There are slight sanding marks inside the first few inches of the ports on the runners and base that appear to be casting cleanup more than a porting job. I had thought that I would open up the plenum outlets and maybe saimese the runners since there is so much meat but at the same time I hate to modify what is potentially a pretty rare piece these days. I think if I'm not happy with the improvement I'll get a Super Ram plenum and runners since I'll already have the base installed.

No question about it being ported. The runner openings looks like some I have done.

Oh yeah, obviously ported, I'm just wondering (not that it really matters) if this is the Accel/LPE porting or someone else's

Hard for me to judge from the pictures but the runner opening to the plenum should be the same size or slightly larger than the plenum opening. Generally speaking you don't want a lip or edge sticking out into the air flow.

One suggestion... Flat clear powdercoat or paint. Blasted aluminum soaks up dirt like a sponge, and is impossible to clean. I generally paint/coat all of my bare aluminun if I want to keep it nice.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing flat clear, but I've also had good luck wiht just using brake cleaner to wash things down. I'll decide on something soon.
