1988 Iroc 5.7 & 1986 Z28 5.0 Lg4
1988 Iroc 5.7 & 1986 Z28 5.0 Lg4
Guys, I have been searching through the forum to a specific answer to this. I have a 1986 Z28 with the LG4 Auto with a solid body, but the engin has overheating and oil pressure issues and the wiring harness was a hack job in the engine compartment, i also have a short i cant find.It was a recon motor. I also have an 1988 Iroc with the l98 but the body is a rotted train wreck, but mechanically is very sound with 70000. I am going to swap the l98 over along with other parts, but what I am trying to figure out is if the 1986 and 1988 are compatible at the bulkhead connection or not?
Also any other advise?
Thank you,
PJ

If no one chimes in, I'd say look at wiring diagrams for both cars.
My guess would be that the connector will plug in, but the the carbed car will lack some wires inside the connector to power things like the fuel injection on the TPI motor, but it should n't be all that different. and since you have both cars you have everything to swap over though so that is a plus.
