IAC valve part number?

I just received a new IAC valve for my 87 Camaro.
It has the part number AC1 (Standard motor products)

The IAC connector on my TPI system didn't fit the correct way but if I turned the connector 90 degrees it will connect. This is because of some slots inside the pigtail is different placed on the new IAC valve.

Have anyone of you have this problem before?..
Is it possible just to cut and reconnect the wires and got the same function of the valve?..I mean, how different could the valve be.

i dont get where your going with this. the plug should fit on only one way. did your valve just screw in? or bolt in?

Mayby I explained a little bit bad on my problem here.

The IAC connector has 4 plastic cylinders which should fit in the IAC valve.
Those plastic cylinders has to slots in them so they are "splitted" on the middle if you understand what I mean.

And inside the IAC valve those slots didn't fit then putting the connector the correct way in. So I took a knife and cut another slot on the IAC connector and then it fit on the valve as it was supposed to. But I don't know if the wiring will be correct then.

I uploaded to pictures to show the slots I am talking about inside the valve and on the connector. Mayby it is easier to understand what I am trying to explain.
