Bosch 3 22#hr ??

I had a set of Bosch 3's I got from a guy only used for two month's. I sold them to friend over sea's and he stated the 280155700 flow at 19 #hr. I think with the duty cycle ford uses and there lower 39 psi they would 19#hr but at 45 would flow and work as 22#hr. I have a set of these in another vehicle 3 hours away im pretty sure they are the same number yellow bosch 3's. Are the 280155700 22 #hr

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

The 0280155700's are ford injectors,, though they are made by bosch. Ford rates their injectors at 39psi, therefore these injectors flow at 19lb. For all other applications that run around 43psi at the rail, the injectors are rated at 22lb.

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

Im confused. I have 22 lb Bosch III's. My fuel rail pressure at prime is around 50 lb. While at idle, its around 45-47 lb. So with that said, what is my flow rate, in theory?

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

Yes those will work for you tpi 350, if they didn't come from southbay you will need to double o-ring them in order to get them to seal on the intake side.

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

On a fords they are close to 19#hr, when you increase the fuel pressure on a injector the flow rate goes up.

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

I have 1 set of these from southbay and that car idles and drives silky smooth with smooth and good power, I have a couple of other stock 5.7 TPI cars, some with multecs, some with rochesters, some with other replacement injectors and none of them have the idle quality and drivability that these do...and the engine they are in is my most worn out 200+ K miles beater engine I own. I would and probably will buiy another couple of sets for my vettes if they need injectors.

You are correct, actually ford pressure is 39.15psi, therefore the injectors are rated at 19lb at that pressure, when flowed at 43.5psi the injectors flow at 22lb.
By the way, if they are the standard bosch...60mm oring to oring, they are not going to fit properly into the rail, they will be too short unless you have
injectors where bosch made accomodations on the top to use the clips. If you have a stock intake, you will need additional orings or our adapters on the bottom of
the injector for proper fitment

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

I have Bosch 3's 21lb and am running at around 40lb idle. When I install my AFPR and set it at 50lb idle, what will my flow rate be?

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

Wow I just check on mines I will have to run them at 59psi to have them at 22lbs. According to the calculated measures 19lbs flow 19lbs under 43.5 psi.
I just finish installeing my injectors with no mods to the injectors or removing material from my intake . Just the double o- ring at the bottom of the injector. Prime the system with no leaks. Should I worried I did not used the metal clips.
Also is it safe to run the 59psi.
Or should I just keep my stock injectors in place and just replace the one that is bad.

Don't worry about the clips. They aren't necessary, the pressure from the fuel rail is what holds them in place. Whatever you do if your stock injectors are multecs dont't keep them
Don't worry, the bosch lll's will function fine at 59psi

Re: Bosch 3 22#hr ??

If you have modified the engine with a camshaft/heads and have data logged or have a wide band oxygen sensor and are correcting your int and blm raise the fuel pressure some to compensate Or have your memcal reprogramed. If the engine is mostly stock there is not need to run a higher fuel pressure.
