Speed density tuning help

I need information on tuning my system. I have a 355 with aftermarket heads, cam, injectors and headers. I bought an installation kit for my engine from Affordable Fuel Injection and the chip is programmed for a stock 350 SD TPI. The engine runs fine but I would like to improve on the idle mixture and speed.
The cam that's in it is not radical at all and I think the engine should idle smoother.
I understand there is a company that sells a board I can install in the "730" ECM along with a EEPROM and use a laptop with a program to change values. I did find a web site called Tuner Pro that has free downloads for TPI.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Tuning is a black art that takes time to learn. Also, you'll get more responses over on the tuning board. And, there's LOTSA' stuff to read on here already. Just start searching.

This
http://www.moates.net/ostrich-20-the....html?cPath=95
will allow " real time" as you drive tuning direct from a laptop using the Tuner Pro program

This
http://www.moates.net/burn2-chip-pro....html?cPath=94
will allow you to reprogram a EEPROM to install in the adapter board which means you must open the ECM
and R/R the chip anytime you want to make a tuning adjustment

This
http://www.moates.net/apu1-autoprom-....html?cPath=95
combines both burning and real time tuning functions

Any of above require this adapter for your ECM
http://www.moates.net/g1-memory-adap...-etc-p-32.html
OR with 2 blank EEPROMs

Re: Speed density tuning help

Thanks vetteoz for the useful information.
So from what I can gather you can change values for fuel and timing as the engine runs at different RPM ranges and see how it performs and when you like the set up you burn a chip.
Am I correct on this?
Also what about the Dynaminc EFI system? Any pro's and con's about either using Moates or Dynamic EFI?

Where do I find the tuning board? I looked at all the options in red at the top of the page but don't see it listed in any drop down menu. Or did I miss seeing it?
Had to edit this. I found the tuning board by going to the home page. Yes there is a lot of information. Let my education begin.

Correct
or if you have no other use for it ( another car to tune ) you can leave it permanently in the car as some of us do
( tuning is bug , there is always something you want to try )
