Performance woes after Intake Swap
I finally got my car back together, and after several attempts with getting the timing right, my car just isn't running right at all. It ran pretty good before I broke it down besides having a hard start issue, in which I think I had a bad injector because it starts without having to use starter fluid now. The starter seems to be having a hard time turning the motor over, which leads me to think the timing is off. I followed the tech guide with timing, and set with timing wire disconnected. I don't think I have any leaks and vacuum lines are where they should be, it idles fine and its not backfiring. Performance wise, it just seems its not running on all cylinders. The motor seems to make the car vibrate which isn't normal, if that gives a clue on how its running. Any help on what I could of done or doing wrong would be helpful.
its a 89, 383. I had baseplate ported, added matched ported SLP runners, Plenuim Siamesed. I replaced injectors(Bosch 24lb),new EGR, relocated temp sensor under plenuim, installed Holley AFPR, new distrubutor, new cap & rotor button. I've got the fuel pressure set at 43psi withth vacuum disconnected.

The first step is NEVER assume you don,t make mistakes ,pull any trouble codes, pull the plugs and inspect them, you can tell a great deal from the spark plug condition,,verify your ignition wire firing order and adjust the valves then verify your ignition advance curve,if you know what your looking at, pull trouble codes.

Also check for vacuum leak around your intake plenum and runners. Had the same issue when I rebuilt my tpi. Trying to time it and I just couldn't get it to run, then further inspection I found some bolts on the intake were missing and the gasket was not seated properly causing vacuum leaks

Cool, I will check those things and report back...Will a vaccum leak cause the starter to drag?.. starter is only a year old, and worked fine before swap.

Nope. Not sure about the starter. Just double check all the connections at the terminals and check for resistance on the power wire
