Oil sensor or switch?

I have an unidentified sensor on my 86 tpi 5.0. Its right next to the oil pressure sending unit for the gauge in the car. In fact, its on the same pipe that comes out of the back of the intake that the oil pressure sender is screwed into. It has a two prong plug connection with a fat orange and orange/white wire. It screws in vertically while the oil pressure sender screws in horizontally. I think it might be related to the fuel pump circuit...you know to shut the car down incase of low oil pressure but thats just a guess. Anyone actually know what it is?

Oil pressure switch
It is a backup for the fuel pump should the pump relay fail ; not a safety switch
Look at the circuit diagram , so long as the pump relay is closed ( by the ECM that operates it )
the pump will still receive power regardless what the oil pressure is
