TPI fuel pump

I have a 91' firebird that came with a 305 tpi and have now have a carbureted engine. I got the proper fuel pressure regulator recommended by Holley for the high pressure fuel pump. The problem im having is im loosing pressure after a few seconds of run time. What i need to know is what controls the fuel pump? It seems that fuel pump kicks on for a few seconds when the key is turned to the run position but never comes back on. I'm guessing that i can just wire the pump to come on and stay on. Basically I'm wondering is does the computer need to see the engine running in order to get the fuel pump to come on and stay on. The only thing the key switch is used for now is to operate the started and fuel pump. I have a separate switch top operate the ignition and cooling fans.

Covered many times. There is a 2 second prime.

The oil sender has a safety on it. If you're not using it (I'm not) you need to jump the relay for the pump to stay on.

Do you still have the computer in place? most remove it when doing a carb swap

If your oil pressure switch was working ( did you leave it in place and wired up ? ) then it would run the pump
as soon as you crank the engine over and keep the pump running as long as the engine is running ,
then turn the pump off when you kill the engine
If you want to use the fuel pump relay then you have to disconnect it from the computer and then rewire
it so it comes on with the Ign switch

The computer is still in place. What if I just take the plug for the oil pressure switch cut the two wires on it and connect them?

The pump will run full time , even with the key off which is why the switch was there in the first place
to only run the pump when the engine is turning over
