Just about to pick up a 1990 formula and ready to start planning
Hey guys. I'm picking up a 1990 5.7 formula this weekend. I've been out of the thirdgen scene for a while and thrilled to be back. It's still very early and things won't be moving real fast but I want to start planning so every time I get paid I can buy a little bit of what I need. I've been doing LT1's for a long time so I'm not sure where to begin here. I want the car to be extremely streetable with plenty of power and I was kind of wanting to stick with a TPI setup.
This is my first thought. Please let me know what you guys think.
383 or 355
First TPI manifold
AFR 195's ported by Lloyd Elliott
Custom emissions cam from Lloyd (somewhere around CC503 specs
Dyno Don headers
SLP cold air (already have)
3200 stall converter (already have)
GMMG catback (already have)
3.73's
1.6 RR's (already have)
MSD distributor and wires
30lb injectors
Of course I'll beef up the tranny as well
I'm not even close to new to building motors or modding F-bodies but again it's been a while since I've worked on a thirdgen so I'm open to ideas and suggestions. This car does not have to break any horsepower records or ET records I just want a fun and fast streetcar that's very reliable. Thanks guys.

Jealous that you have a 1990, and jealous again you have the means to run a FIRST! Ill keep putting my
pennies away and hopefully one day and snag one up. I think itll be a great and surprisingly fast car.
Re: Just about to pick up a 1990 formula and ready to start planning
Yeah there aren't a whole lot of 1990's around so I'm pretty excited about that. But I certainly don't have the cash just to start a build just yet but I plan on this being a project that will take some time. It will be done right I'm just trying to do as much research as I can now so that when it comes time to buy parts I get exactly what the car needs. Thanks for the reply.
