coolant leak

Hi i popped my hood and noticed there was a puddle of coolant just sitting on the block under the throttle body, any ideas of what might be wrong to have caused this?

Re: coolant leak

It's probably coming out of the thermostat housing.

It might also be coming from the throttle body.

I can't recall if the intake manifold bolt (where the puddle is) threads into the coolant passage....? It might be coming from there as well.

Re: coolant leak

Re: coolant leak

Thermostat housing...almost guaranteed. Its about a 20 minute fix and a 10 dollar part (for a GOOD gasket). While your in there you should change out your thermostat if you have no idea how old it is. All told youll spend something like 25-30 bucks if you buy good stuff and you wont be leaking coolant anymore.

sorry...first post from phone. I had the J shaped hose leaking on mine. Connects the throttle body to the intake. IIRC.
