Fuel pump replacement problem

I'm replacing the pump on my TPI Formula350, but the entire assembly won't fully seat into the tank!!! I've looked around at how to position it back in the tank, but it simply won't go........is there a trick? Am I just an idiot?!

Re: Fuel pump replacement problem

Replacing it with the same part?

Is there a difference in length compared to what came out?

Re: Fuel pump replacement problem

No man, stock replacement Rock Auto pump!

I bought this car for my LS swap projects interior. I tore down the engine down to the block just to make sure it was in good shape. All I need to do is get it running so I can get better money for it! Runs great as long and I'm spraying starting fluid in the throttle body.

This is killing me but it's gotta go somehow!
