Will L31 96-00 vortec 350 truck accessory brackets work with say a First TPI intake? The main problem I see is with the high side AC line that would be directly in the way of the throttle body which could be dealt with easy enough. Otherwise I'm not sure what would hit. This is for a 95 Silverado application. I'm wanting to use the vortec brackets to free up real estate on the passengers side for the front mount turbo and so I can use the Sanden replacement compressor for the 96-00 trucks. Anyone? I was thinking it might be possible to tap the inlet and outlets of the compressor and screw in fittings and use braided AN hose for AC hoses. Would be more work but it is an option to get the hoses routed out of the way of the throttle body if that is indeed the only fitment issue.

 

I don't think I've ever seen a thirdgen running truck accessories, let alone one with a First system on it. This might not be the best avenue to answer your question. Maybe a truck forum will have an answer, but I don't think there are many First intakes on trucks. You may have to be the guinea pig and find out on your own.

 

I may have answered my own question. I started looking through the gallery on the First website and found some good pics of the F body brackets which have the compressor and alternator positioned just like my stock 95 truck brackets. I didn't realize how staggered the intake runners are and there appears to be plenty of room on the drivers side for an A/C compressor.
