the search tab doesent seem to address this clearly (or im a dumbass) I need to datalog my 86 TPI car.i need advice as to how exactly I do this. I have heard that tunerpro is better than winaldl. so I will be using that. question 1. where can I buy a ready made cable?? question 2 my sony laptop uses windows vista, will it work? question 3. obviously, I know nothing about what im about to attempt.any guidance or helpful hints will be more than appreciated.i have a bone stock car with no mods at all.and I will be replacing the cars ECM (reman from cardone) and memcal (from brian ) before I attempt this. what can go wrong? is there a chance of frying anything? tuners with experience ,do chime in please::

Re: how to datalog my car
i am currently working on installing a nexus 7 into my dash, and instead of a cable im gonna use this http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-Bluet...-/320864288463 its cheaper than those cables...and seems more user friendly for more applications. i know maybe 1 days worth of research than you so thats the only use information i can give now....but its not a 50.00 cable that only connects to usb ports you know

1.http://www.aldlcable.com/
2.Should do .Have had TP running on 98 and XP
Also consider more user friendly Datamaster TTS.( Gives 20 free logs before you have to buy )
3.Will require help in setting the software up but once that is done , just a matter of recording a datalog and playing it back.
What you do with the info you get is a different matter
