fuel pressure test

I have a 355 motor with TPI and the results of a fuel pressure test are as follows.
fuel pump only on 40psi
engine idle 34psi
engine at 3500rpm 34psi
car in gear 32psi
My question, does this look like a normal reading? The problem I'm having with my car is the engine turning off when I slow down below 20mph or when I come to a stop. But while driving at higher speeds the motor runs great.

Re: fuel pressure test

I found this site helpful.
http://vaporworx.com/fuel_pressure_regulators.htm
You can figure out how much vacuum you have and see how much the FPR affects your static fuel pressure.
I did this with my truck and it was pretty accurate. It will help you decide if you fuel pressure drops to much in gear or idle.
I don't know what factory static pressure should be. 43 +/- psi?
You can see what your static pressure is by disconnecting the vacuum line to the FPR.
Some of these guys could prolly tell you what you should be at for idle and in gear off the top of their heads.
