'87 IROC with 5.7 TPI MAF issues

Hey! quick synopsis..

Bought IROC, owner said MAF was bad, so they disconnected it to drive it.. I replaced it with a new one, ran great for 10 minutes.. After I shut it off for a day, I started it up, ran for a second, then shut right off..

I disconnected new MAF, runs fine..

Bad MAF? Bad wiring? Did something wrong?

Any stored codes ? Iirc the non weather proof relays on the bulk head in 85-87 were inferior to the later weather proof ones. Small contacts, these often drew too much amperage and destroyed the relay to connecter and internal female connecters.

Re: '87 IROC with 5.7 TPI MAF issues

So if you plug the MAF in and it doesn't run at all after resetting the codes... It's probably a bad unit?

Tried another unit, still won't run... Ordered two new relays for MAF power, and MAF burn off... Will post results.
