getting knock at 4800-up in WOT ... can't seem to get rid of it
Working on a 305 TPI using a $6E Prom - from an 1989 305 Auto BIN with a number of mods. Engine is .030 over, l69 cam (best I can measure), headers, K&N off the MAF, and 3.73 gears with 700R4. And running 350 injectors (best I had at the time I made the setup)
I got the engine running well. Idles good. Drives awesome. Good Throttle respond.
One issue ... it will Knock at 4800-up. I've taken spark out in the main table, and in the PE. Still knocks. I took out more. Still knocks.
I can verify there is actual knock as the MAF measures drop when the knock is detected AND the engine falls flat.
The O2 readings are in the .940 range. Seems like it's rich. The Injector pulse is running 9.0 at 4000 RPM and starts to decline by 4800 to 7.57 (seems odd that it does that ... based on LV8?. While the O2 says it's rich ... I'm thinking I'm lean.
Looking for some ideas. I guess I could make it really really rich and see if the knock goes away.
Mark.

Did you check what your plugs look like? Maybe they're too hot. Maybe try a colder range plug? Or possibly carbon deposits holding heat.. just throwing out some ideas.
