Introduction
Hello Chevy folks, I am new on your forum. I will start out by saying that I do not own a Camaro. I am not a GM person either. My wife wanted an older chevelle so I built her one from the ground up. A 71 chevelle. She wanted modern yet old school. So here we have a 71 chevelle with a 87 350TPI mated to an old school 4 speed. Now for the reason I am here. I bought a computer and plug and play from hot rod harness. I installed everything as instructed. I have to say the engine fired right up and runs better than I (being a mopar guy) expected. However when you get off the gas and slow down the engine dies every time. I get no codes and have double checked every thing. It fires right back up and it idles right on where it should at 750 rpm. I don't know this engine set up so looking for some help. I need to get this resolved as this car will be driven a lot and it is for my wife. So please if you have any TPI savy please help a fellow car person out of a bind.
Many thanks for any help.

AND Pontiac folks!
Welcome! Lot's of great members and info on here. Go to the TPI section and get intimate with it! TONS of info.
But for starters, start with this procedure and follow it to a tee.

Re: Introduction
Cool Pontiacs I can relate to but only back in the 60's. Thanks for the welcome and I am pretty sure your dead on with that information. I knew about the throttle position setting but only after I tried to adjust the idle with the setting on the side. So I am sure I got it way off. Thank you for the response and great information.

I was going to post a couple of pictures of the beast I am pretty proud of how it came out for my first GM build but it wouldn't accept my pictures. Something with their format. The TPI is an awesome looking motor. I have worked on nothing like it!
