TPI 5.7 700r4 TV Cable length

Hey guys. I'm really in need of help here. I have been messing about for so long figuring out what the correct length and cable number I should have. I ordered and fitted a AC25521263 cable to my 1987/1988 Camaro IROC z with 350TPI and 700r4. The trans is now burnt out and I've measured the old vs new cable and I'm really confused what the hell the old cable was as its a couple inches shorter!

Please can someone tell me what part number I need. Thanks.

Old cable

Old cable around 49.5"

New AC25521263 about 52"

New AC25521263
Difference between AC25521263 and old cable

Difference between AC25521263 and old cable

Inner wire looks the same as the old one snapped about 1" off

This is all that matters. The housing being a couple of inches longer won't make a difference. Just be sure to adjust it once installed.

So the only bit to be concerned with is the exposed wire? I guess that's from the bracket to the throttle and is what is the throw of the cable.

Yes, John's thread outlines this perfectly.
