Strange TPS issue

Hello all,

I have an '89 Iroc with 305 tpi. The rpms will dip real low or car will die when coming to a stop or making a low speed turn. Also occasional hesitation with throttle.

The battery, alternator, and all grounds have been checked and tested good.

I went to test the TPS thinking that could be bad.. but on all three prongs I get ZERO voltage with the voltmeter.

Method of testing, connect negative lead of voltmeter to ground on car body. Positive lead goes to the center prong on the TPS.. Ignition in the "RUN" position. NO voltage at all on the center prong of TPS or any its prongs for that matter.

No check engine light which I thought was strange.. I figured if the TPS was bad the light would come on.

What do you guys think does the TPS need replacement?

Re: Strange TPS issue

The gray wire at the tops is 5v ref. If voltage is missing here test at pin c14 at the ecm.

Re: Strange TPS issue

False alarm.. I recently bought the car and yesterday was the first time getting it back on the road and actually driving it.

Turns out it was out of gas -_-. Gauge said I had around a half a tank
