1987 iroc keeps turning off

i have a 87 iroc camaro 5.0 manual, it has brand new headers exhaust system, fuel pump lines, fuel tank. it turns on but i have to keep my foot on the gas, once i let go it turns off need help!

and i also need to know what this part is

Idle air control stuck , ignition timing off could cause the idle issues.
That is your air pump diverter valve.

The diverter just adds air to the exhaust to clean emissions during cruising highway speeds.
