So my project this weekend is to try and start the 383 in the 91. I don't expect much out of it, but I just wanna get it to run and drive for now. I already talked to a well known member here about tuning it. The plan is to throw the injectors in from the l98 in the IROC, and put a speed density l98 chip in the ecm. The 383 has a super ram and a comp cams xfi 280 in it. Will it at least start and run? Or will that cam reek havoc with the speed density?? Opinions please.

Not sure what size injectors your usuning 42 or smaller ?
You will run fairly rich. At the least the injector constant value should be changed as a starter tune.

 

That's why I wanna swap the injectors out. It is a pain with the super ram, but I don't wanna wash the cylinders with the 30lb ones in there now. I figured if I at least put stock injectors in it might run poorly, but at least it won't damage the motor, correct?? Or should I put it on a trailer and haul it to Pittsburgh before I do anything and get it set up for the injectors currently in there? That's the reason I'm throwing this out for input...

 

The stock injectors might make it run too lean.
