Injector problem ??

Hi everyone, not been on here for at least 9 years, when i sold my 89 GTA to buy a 80 Trans Am S/E which i still have.Just bought a 91 Trans Am 305 two weeks ago.Starting to wish i hadn't bought it now as it broke down yesterday.

I used it for a couple of days after i bought it and noticed it developed a slight misfire when it got warm.Brushed it off as probably needing plugs etc as not been used much. But then didn't get round to doing anything with it as didn't have time and didn't use it again until last thursday,it was running great then with no misfires,up until yeterday when it just died as i was driving.Got it to start ok but wouldn't rev, will idle but that's it.Had to tow it home.
Went out this morning,it fired straight up,drove about 100 yds, floored it and it pulled great then just died again, managed to turn it around and get it home with engine at idle, won't rev without dying.
Checked ohms on injectors, number 1 had 9.8,number 7 had 4.9 and all the other 6 had 16.7.After running it again i checked number 1 again and it had 11 ohms.Could those two injectors cause it to not be able to rev up?
Fuel pressure was around 38-40.
I did the codes but not sure how to read them.It does the first stage for 12,then pauses then does two quick flashes 3 times.

Heres a short vid.

Plug on left is number 1 cylinder, right is number 3.

Ok thanks for the quick reply.Just been looking on your website, what's the difference between the ones at $145 and the D3 at $155.Also do the D3 come with the adapters or do i need to buy them seperately.
Thanks Jimmy.

Re: Injector problem ??

Check all the wiring going to your fuel pump and make sure its tight. also check that the fuel pump relay is seated properly. Sounds like a intermittent fuel pump issue.

Re: Injector problem ??

Both are bosch injectors and both have a 4 spray pattern. The injectors for $145 are the bosch gen ll..it's a fine injector. The bosch lll is more efficient with better atomization. The adapters are included in the price....plug and play

Yes your fuel pressure is sufficient, however if you have a loose wire or relay it may cause it to "cut out" causing you to momentarily lose fuel pressure.

Re: Injector problem ??

Injectors came wednesday, put them in yesterday but didn't have time to finish until today.Changed plugs, cap and rotor and runs much better.Moves like a scalded cat.Slightly lumpy at idle but i have a pipe off which i now know where it goes.
Not checked codes which i will do as i also had code 22,TPS,not changed that yet.

Re: Injector problem ??

Although the car runs fine,i had noticed a ticking noise, thought it was a valve. After listening closer it sounds like either a injector or fuel rail.So i checked fuel pressure and i now only have 5 psi.

Re: Injector problem ??

Engine won't run with 5 psi, double check the gauge. Note that the Bosch injectors are louder then the stock Multecs.

Re: Injector problem ??

Yep the Bosch injector tick tool me a minute to figure out too. Thought I had a lifter issue or something. They are LOUD and all 8 fire at the same time amplifying the noise.

Re: Injector problem ??

unfortunately the the bosch lll's are notoriorous for the ticking sound. However it has absolutely nothing to do with the performance or functioning of the injectors
