or can i just get this 3/8 npt to barb and put a section of hose with high pressure clamps? why not, right?

Normally on that kind of crimped hose end, I'd just use a cut-off wheel in a Dremel to cut a slice in the crimped sleeve, then peel the sleeve off the hose. Once the crimp is removed you'll see it's just a hose on a barbed end fitting. Pull the hose off the fitting, slip on a new hose, and clamp it with a high pressure clamp. Most hydraulic shops will have the tools to properly crimp a new sleeve on the end, but you'd probably have to take the entire fuel line off the car.

Trouble with a cut off wheel is sparks in this case. Might try a small saw, or tin snips, or even just file throigh the crimp.

thats what i was thinking (as far as the compressed end)

but it goes to the other side which is a 3/8 NPT threaded fitting..so if i just get an adapter as i posted above, thatll be fine then, correct?

Sure it's not leaking at the flare nut? it might be as simple as replacing the o ring
