So I pulled my fuel rail for the first time in the two years that I have owned my car and found the input side of the injector on 3 cylinders partially plugged with what appears to be sediment from the tank. Is there an easy way to clean these up? Carb cleaner?
Oh, yes I have changed the fuel filter already.
Dat not look good!
Considering the filter sock on the fuel pump, and the fuel filter, that's not likely from the tank. You can probably replace the inlet filters in the injectors, but until you get all the corrosion out of the fuel system, they'll just get blocked again.
I may have to do that. I'm not seeing any screens on these either. They all ohm out about the same so I am thinking the coils are good. Thing is the car ran pretty good. I don't know if these Accel injectors need clips or not but there was nothing holding them in the fuel rail either. I'm not so sure the PO knew what he was doing.
