Carb To TPI
hey guys, i want to convert my car to TPI, i can get an 89 305 MAF setup, my 305 is modified, block bored .20 over, world product s/r torquer 305 heads, crane powermax 2032 cam, headers, 3" cat back and misc stuff, will the maf setup be fine with these modifications? aside from turning vats off in the chip, will the motor run with the 305 19/lb injectors? also i know i need to change the fuel lines, but i'm gonna run an external fuel pump, how about the VSS, i have the one that is behind the speedometer (1986) any other things you can think of?
oh yeah, i'm gonna be installing 3.73 gears, this car is only gonna be driven in the summer, and basically to get up and go, i dont really care about top speed, how much hp do you think were talking with the TPI on top?
thanx guys

TPIs are versatile and easily modified though and can be easily modified. There are many aftermarket parts available to suit many different needs.
I almost forgot this. If you use the stock GM production TPI manifold base from an '89 F body the center four manifold to head mounting bolts(and their holes) are at a more vertical angle than your center four bolt holes in your heads. You will need to elongate the holes the the intake, and flatten the area a little where the head of the bolt will rest. Or if you use an aftermarket manifold base it will have this done already. You also can use an early F body base, or any year Y body (Vette) base to get the right bolt holes without modifying them.
