TPI & NOS install problems
hey guys...TPI/nitrous problem here. I bought a complete wet kit from a friend MINUS the TB plate. I have another friend who is giving me a spare plate, but isnt there an "extension" or something I need so that the throttle bracket/assembly, etc will bolt up or so it won't come up short? I remember seeing a post WAY back about it. Any info or the NOS part # would be appreciated.
Also, the jets I'm going to run are 175 "shot " jets...dynoed his car at 140 RWHP w/ them. My FP is at 42 psi WOT right now...any recomendations on a better (SAFER) FP?

Think you got problems now?
It doesn't look like you got a hole lot a motor mods. Do you think a 175hp shot is wise?
About your FP, I'd go as high as you could to make sure you don't run lean. Also, look into an in-line fuel pump.

You are gonna get your extra fuel through the "wet" kit. The only thing you need to do is set back your timing a little. As far as the plate. Yes you need one. What it does is place the brackets ahead the width of the plate so everything lines up OK. Be carefull( do not hit it from idle) and you should have no problems, although a 170 isd pretty big, I only gained 90hp with a 150 shot at the wheels, but picked up over 1 sec in the 1/8( I was running a 150 shot for about 3 years)

I think I would definitely up the FP .. that seems a lil low for NA on TPI cars .. most that I have seen like 45-47psi.. You especially want more for the nitrous. You will need an extra source to help push the fuel, I dont think your stock pump will be able to handle all that ...
Definitely retard the timing.. 2d for every 50shot of nitrous.. thats the norm.. others have gotten away w/ not retarding at all.. but I wouldnt chance it.
175shot will definitely be pushing that stock motor.. be careful!

I pray for your engine. 175? why not start on the conservative side. 100 and work up. esecially on a stock engine.
But its your party.

hey guys...thanks for replies...keep 'em coming if u have anything to add. One thing I need to mention, is I am DEFINETLY starting out conservative...with the 75 shot jets just to get a "feel" for how the motor will handle it. My ultimate goal is to run the 175 jets. This in not my first nitrous install, however, i am new to the "TPI" game and I want to be as educated as possible in it. This is my first FI car actually...I am a hot rodder and all about the old skooler cars LOL...thanks again 75% of the vehicles I owned, I have hit w/ nitrous...boy...i love this stuff THROTTLE IN A BOTTLE BABY!!...the other 25%....BLOWERS power adders are the ****!!!!!!!
