Belt drive bracket help
Belt drive bracket help
I am building a tpi motor for my truck. I started out with a tbi motor and just figured out that my brackets for the belt drive are not going to work, particularly the AC bracket as the tensioner is right in front of the throttle body. Looking at pics of the tpi setups I can definitely see differences (wider footprint). When searching brackets I have found a few different part #'s. I have also read that you cannot mix and match brackets as the distance off of the block varies and will cause belt/pulley alignment issues. Does this also mean that I will need different water pump and balancer pullies? Did they make an AC bracket that does not have the provision for the air pump? Please tell me what I need. Part #'s would be great.

Yes, you need wp aand cp to match brackets.
gm still sells it all as a kit and has part number break downs on the web. May even have them on this site in the tech section under serpentine belt swap pages.

GM 10105212 10055800 main brackets used on 88-92 f body and B body tbi will work iirc the alt bracket is a different p/n due to re clocked ps pump. Just buy a complete used set off eBay or classified section here.
