Problem with take off
I have a 1990 IROC that came with the 305 and manual transmission. I put a 350 in it about 7 years ago. It ran great. It sat for a few years but still ran good until now. On the freeway or even in town it runs fine. It's when I go to let the clutch out on take off it just won't go. The more gas you give it the harder it stalls. If I'm real easy on the gas it will go and once I'm going it's fine. Only when I take off from a light or any time I stop it just doesn't want to go. It throws me forward in the seat. If I I'm out of gear and I hit the throttle it has a little hesitation. Also some days it idles fine the next day it might idle really high. Then another day it idles so low it won't stay running. I've replaced the fuel pump( not a fun job) I've checked all the sensors. The only thing I'm thinking is maybe the fuel regulator. Any suggestion would by most appreciated. Also when I give it full throttle it acts like it has a power band. I know it doesn't so whatever is causing this problem goes away sometimes when I'm flooring the pedal.

Re: Problem with take off
Test your fuel pressure with a gauge when it's acting up. Check for bad vacuum lines for grins. I wouldn't rule out injectors either. If they're multec injectors they're problematic anyway.

Re: Problem with take off
Thanks I'll check that also. I tried to find a vacuum leak before when my cruise control stopped working. Couldn't find one but I guess I better look a little closer. Thanks again
