1990 305 TPI Fuel Pressure Bleed Off

Hi all,

I have a 1990 Pontiac Firebird 305 TPI. I am having issues with fuel pressure. The car accelerates fine up until about 60 mph, and then stutters/ hesitates and will not accelerate. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge, and my pressure on prime goes up to about 30-35 PSI but then bleeds to 0 PSI within a few seconds. At idle, the car sits at 35 PSI consistently. I have not hooked up the gauge when driving the car. I just changed the fuel pressure regulator and fuel injectors, and the issue continues. I am assuming this is a fuel pump issue, but I want to hear others thoughts before I start that project.

With your story it’s likely your fuel pump check valve.
