AGI,

Welcome aboard!

Sounds like you made a nice find. There are a few things you can do to an '86 TPI that will improve performance, and you may not have to buy anything big. I have an '86 T/A LB9 with 47,000 miles, so I know exactly what you're dealing with.

First off, let's get some basics taken care of. What do you know about the car? What about maintenance schedules? Did you know the previous owner, and what did he/she do to maintain the vehicle?

There are quite a few things that SHOULD have been done to a car with that mileage, and I have a grocery list ready to go. Just a little more "inside" information would be helpful.

i knew the previous owner, and he maintained it pretty well over the years...however it needs a transmission fluid change and an oil change...im going to take it to my mechanic to have it thoroughly gone over. other than that it was maintained pretty welll.

ya I can try to help ya out also..... first off I'd do some SFC (I whis I would have first) then do ignition upgrade. it could be just my car but mine sucks, and I've heard that that was a problem with these cars. then work on exhaust and/0r intake. like porthing the plenum, intake, runners and make a better air intake system. you won' get full advantage or those untill you get the exhaust done, but those are cheaper than exhaust :-) I hope I've helped ya out soem.
