Crossfire to TPI question

My gf has an 84 Vette with Crossfire Injection, she has been looking into switching to a TPI setup and has talked to the guys over at Street & Performance Inc. a lot. Anyway they are trying to tell her that she can use her original distributor with a TPI setup. I didnt think this was possible because my ditributor out of my 86 IROC looks completely different, although hers does have the coil in the cap. I dont know, i trust you guys more than anyone else. Tell me if i'm wrong.

You can use a large-cap distributor with the TPI - the corvettes did all through the end, IIRC. However, the plenum extension (if you choose to use it) is different with the large-cap HEI.
