LT1 Intake On AFR's

i was planing to drop an lt1 intake onto a set of afr 195's. but a very informative source told me that i might need to port the **** out of the intake just to get the ports to match. than i'll be left with no meat on the intake. has anyone used this combo, or should i go down to AFR 190's?

On the contrary, LT1 ports are bigger then stock heads. I know AFR heads are bigger then stock but how much I don't know.

never having lined them up, but having seen both, id say it would be pretty damn close straight out of the box.

I measured the LT1 intake vs the l98 the other day for someone else since I have them both in my garage (doing the LT1 swap on my Iroc). The lt1 intake was about 1.19 inches wide and 2.06 tall. The specified intake for the afr's is 1.28 X 2.09 (Felpro 1205). Those numbers are pretty close, and there is plenty of meat on the lt1 intake to port match that far.

I emailed Marc at AFR about the same thing for my car and he told me that the LT4 intake port will match the AFR 195 and the LT1 port will match the AFR 190, and by the way you can get them machined for the LT1 intake bolt pattern.
