The great airfoil debate!!!

We tried a before and after with and without the airfoil on a chassis dyno today. What we found was that with the airfoil in we had to raise the fuel pressure 3lbs to get the air/fuel ratio optimal as compared to what the pressure was without it. In my opinion that is the proof that it is doing some good. I don't remember the exact numbers but I believe it was 4-5 hp and like 8-9 ftlbs. Now some people will say that is error margin on the dyno but it consistently needed 3 lbs of fuel pressure to maintain optimal a/f ratio.

Sure, it has to do something since it lets the air flow better. Proof and results are always good.

airfoil

Say I just installed an airfoil in my car, do you think I need to adjust the fuel pressure or flow rate?

I don't know for sure. It was only like a .2 or .3 change on the a/f ratio. The car was running Vortec heads, Vortec base from SDPC, stock runners and plenum was ported somewhat. He was also running 24lbs Ford Motorsport injectors. If your a/f is really close then it probably won't hurt either way, but since we were on the dyno with all the good stuff we figured we might as well get it as perfect as possible, so we bumped the pressure. Had it running like 12.5 - 12.7 all the way through the pull, which the dyno guy said was right where it should be.
