LT1 intake distributor mount mod?
Came up with this idea.
I bought an adjustable slip collar for an MSD distributor, the kind you use to adjust distributor height, at the Gatornationals today. It's just over 1/4 inch. It has an adjustment screw to lock on the distributor shaft.
How about brazing that onto the LT1 intakes? It'll bring it up to where it needs to be, and if brazed to the intake, eliminates the need to drill for the hold-down bolt! Also should allow for the distributor gasket. It cost me $17 out the door. Perfect fit to my GM distributor (I would hope so).
The only problem I see is that the collar has a small gap to allow for expansion/contraction. In other words, possible vapor/oil escape. The only thoght that comes to mind...gasket maker silicone? Sloppy but hey it's 1:30 in the morning!

I'll try to get a picture. I'm not going to do it if it doesn't appear to be a good idea but I figured I'd ask anyway.
