TPI 390hp
TPI 390hp
I am getting a normally carb 350 390hp engine and getting it TPI, will i see any more increase in power over the carb, mavy even better mpg and just all around better performance from it being TPI? thanks
What kind of TPI setup? If you put stock stuff on you will definately lose substantial hp. What are the specs. on this motor? Heads, cam, etc. Are you going with SD or MAF? My guess is the 390 hp is rated with a good intake and carb, so you will need to go with a Miniram, Superram or better yet, modified LT1 intake to get equal results. The long tube runner TPI setup will fall off at ~5000 rpm.
the thing is, i already haev saved up enough to get a 700r tranny, eaton posi differential, 3.73 gears, and a few other things liek a driveshaft if i need one, now, all i need is the engine, and all accessories unless i can use my accessories like the powersteering pump, airconditioner, alternator( not likely because mine is shot and i need a new one anyway, and just other things like that.

I lost 50hp by going w/ a LTR setup. My TPI is currently stock parts minus the 58mm TB. The plenum has been ported.
The car has a well broken in ZZ4 w/ 1 5/8" headers w/ a catback. It dyno'ed at the wheels 257hp and a neck braking 356tq. On the motor that about 300 hp and 418 tq. You might gain tq but I garenty you will loose HP.
