Egr Servicing

I have a 91 305 TPI; LB9. I am down to getting one last bolt out off the EGR to replace it in order to hopefully fix my 32 code and horrible idle and cruising. Obviously I have the plenum intake off; but one last 3/8 bolt is holding me back and I can't get to it with my basic tool kit (box end, ratchet). My neighbor lent me a couple other tools (flat ratchet); no luck. Any one know of a technique or tool to help me?? Thanks.

I think a 12 point wrench should get it working between the
drives side rear runner and the distributor a bit at a time.

If you pull the distributor it should go alot faster.

thanks swapmaster, I got a 12 point and cut it by 1/3...did the trick. Now I am waiting on the part!! Hope this clears the 32 code.

Dont know if you have already done this, but if you have not removed the sensor that screws into the side of the EGR valve, it will be impossible to remove the one EGR hold down bolt. Remove the sensor first, and you shouldnt have a problem.
