Question about Timing chain...w/in

Question about Timing chain...w/in

is there a way to check if it is correct without removing the timing cover?????? As in a think Mine may be incorrectly set but zi dont want to remove the cover unless I HAVE to...

There are several methods to check the timing chain installation (valve timing) without removing the timing cover:

1. Cut a hole in the timing cover;

2. Eat lots of carrots, develop X-Ray vison, and inspect it through the cover;

3. Have someone else remove the timing cover;

4. Install a degree wheel and marker, remove the rocker cover, set up an indicator, find your cam specs, remove a plug and insert a piston stop, and check the LCA of the intake lobe.

Or, you could bite the bullet and remove the timing cover.
