Slipping TH350

I have a TH350 in my Trans am that used to shift firm and if i was at WOT it would always spin into second.
But over the last couple of weeks it does not get seconds anymore and if the gearbox is not warmed up it dos'nt even upshift into third gear.
When i start the car and put it in reverse or drive it takes a good 5 seconds to engage that gear also when i put my foot flat the engine revs but it does not accelerate like it should and when it changes into second it's as if second gear is slipping and the same when it DOES go into third.
Sorry for the long post but i tried too give all the details i could.
P.S I have checked the fluid level and it is fine and it is not burnt or anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Jeff

Plugged filter maybe? Change the fluid and filter and see what happens.

Check the fluid level, low fluid levels will cause this.

Besides from the long time to engage I would swear your clutches are on there way out, however when my 350's start to slip while accelerating I can only get maybe a hundred miles it that before it's dead meat -- at least the forward gears ie. forward clutches would be gone. My reverse would always work like new. Does yours ???

It still takes at least 5 seconds to engage reverse but after that it works normal.
I have put about 1000miles on the car since the problem started.
And i dont get the fact that until it has warmed it does not upshift
and when it does finally get into third it's as if it wants to go back into second most of the time it's like a surging between the 2 gears.
I really dont know what it is i might just get the transmission rebuilt.
Any ideas or things i could try too pinpoint the problem.
Cheers.
