Missing part on 400 ?

I was installing the 400 today and noticed that this plastic bit moved around pretty easy, should there be some sort of snap ring to hold it in place? I bought the transmission and had it rebuilt but just noticed this today.

There are plastic Tabs that hold it in place. If it stays put it should be OK but you might want to check it to make sure that the O-ring was changed and isn't all flattened out.

I agree with transfixleo on this, double check the work to be on the safe side.
