buying a car with an l69/700r4 combo and 110k on it. The car was in storage for 10 years and when the seller took it out it would only go in reverse and 1st gear, she said that one time it went into second but then fell back to first? Whats wrong and how could it be fixed? Ive heard it could just be a stuck throttle vavle and that sticking a shiftkit in would solve this, is this true? Please help. Thanx

 

First check the fluid level & condition of the fluid, 2nd check out the gear on the governor, it might be broke or stripped. If the fluid looks or smells bad then the clutches or band could be gone. If the gear is fine & the oil is ok, then it could possibly be a stuck TV valve.
