88 rear end 26 spline or 28??

88 rear end 26 spline or 28??
Ok I was wondering if my rear end will work with the SLP posi unit? I read somewhere that 87 and up was the 28 spline is this true? I want a posi rear end but i dont want to switch rims.

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
1990 was the year they went to 28 spline but there may be some 1989's with 28 spline. Everything earlier (with a 10 bolt) is 26 spline.

You could also buy some good aftermarket 28 spline axles from www.tomsdifferentials.com for $125 each.
