9 bolt posi not working
I had some new gears and a used 3 series posi installed into my 9 bolt. I have just over 500 miles on them. It seems to be set up right( I had it done professionally) .
I don't seem to have a very healthy posi though. if the car is on jack stands both wheels turn the same when you spin one, or the pinion.
I noticed this morning that I only leave one black mark when doing a burn out.
Is there a rebuild kit for this posi? Is it possible to use the parts from my working 2 series carrier?
How hard is it to remove and reinstall the carrier without messing up the backlash?
Thanks for the info.

Sounds like the cones are bottomed out in the housings.
I offer brand new OEM quality series 3 posi's for 445. I also offer a core exchange for used/wornout carriers. Email me with what you have.

I was having same problem after I installed my "new" used posi. First I just put some miles on it cause I did'nt know how long it was sitting. Make sure you don't back out of the driveway and then get on it, cause more than likely it will be unlocked after you have turned the car so it will only burn off 1 tire. I'm still having trouble at the track cause they moved the burnout box closer to the staging lane so now you basically turn into the box. I look kinda dumb cause as soon as I pull in and straighten it out, I'll back up about 8-10' then pull back in so posi will lock back up.
there is a tech article on how to fix it, from what i understand its not that difficult to do.
