I have a 700 4-r tranny with a shift kit. not sure what the name brand of shift kit. Here is my question. can a shift kit cause your transmission to slip? my tranny is slipping when shifting into second gear.

Well before Leo jumps on you, Trasgo owns the name "shift kit".

It's more then likely a misadjusted Tv cable assuming you mean slipping as in takes a second to pull in third right after the shift. Go to the tech articals and look for the artical on adjusting the TV cable, adjust it like the directions say and give it one extra click for good measure. One extra click helps especially when the cable is streched and still falls into the line pressure limit.

as long as the throttle blades can open fully without cable preventing that form happening asnd cable is tight at WOT then it should be set right,.
good luck
