i had new posi/gears installed in my rear and now it makes clunking noises theres alot of play on the pinion, can i tighten the pinion nut or will this affect the gear pattern?

you shouldn't ask for someone by name when anyone could answer your question. if you really have something for rb's eyes only try the PM or e mail. i bet i could of helped with this one as well as a lot of others

rb has been working out of the country off and on for a while so it may of been a bad idea asking for just him. any way about your problem, how to you know the pinion has a lot of play in it? did you set the pinion depth? did you set the preload on the bearings? back lash ok? if the answer is yes to all of these questions i'd look elsewhere. my guess is the answer isn't yes, then i'd check it out and take a look at the gears and bearings.
