Transmission Probs

I recently went to a Tranny shop to get my 82 TA CFI checked out. It seems that my 3 Speed won't shift to the next gear unless I get the RPM's to hit 2000 or higher (depending on speed).

Can anyone explain why it's doing that?

They fixed that and some rings. Dunno, nothing seems different except that I don't leak fluid.
