Does anyone know what the V6 NWC T5 are rated at?

When did they start putting in the WC behind the V6 in camaro was in in 88 when they started or 94-95 with the 3.4?

Thanks

T5

I think I heard something like 150 torque for the v6 is this right for the older NWC v6 T5.
200 for the WC v6 T5 I am guessing on this one.

Thanks and does anyone know for sure.

It makes no particular difference what they're "rated" at... what is it you really want to know?

AFAIK GM started ordering the 2nd design trans exclusively (finally) starting with 87 production.

Well I have a 95 3.4 Camaro motor that is going behind a NWC T5 that's in a 89 s10 4x4. Was a 2.8.

I am reserching what will work and not having to spend a ton of money.

getting a better T5 is critical because when you put on over size tires tires puts stress on the tranny then it breaks. This has happend to a few people that I know online that have put the 3.4 behind the stock NWC T5 V6.

Before I put this all together I would rather have it stronger now and not have to take out the tranny again because it didn't hold it self together.

What year did they start putting the WC behind the V6 in camaro/ firebird?
If I can get a output shaft made then I could upgrade to the better T5 tranny.

You can tear up a T5 with anything. You can also make it last behind anything. Believe me, I've torn up more than you've ever even seen unless you work at a trans place, with a 305 and then a 400; and I've also made them last behind the same 400, by not pretending they were a 4-speed.

The "WC" isn't significantly stronger than a 1st design, at least not enough different to matter. You're barking up a non-existent tree. Don't waste your time and effort that way.

GM started using the 2nd design T5 in all these cars in 87.

You can't get an output shaft made, unless you have access to heat-treating and hardening services.

T5

So the V6 to V8 there is no difference besides the spline numbers and the gearing inside?

Have you torn into these trannies or just switched them out because they were bad?

here are some pics of my tranny taken apart.

They started using the WC in 88 that I know for sure but not in all like the s10 or maybe the V6's that I am trying to find out for sure.

What years of T5 have you been dealing with?

Thanks for posting
