Vibrations-- What next?
Still in the process of fixing my vibrations around 70 MPH. So far I have replaced the following:
New Shocks (no improvement)
New Stabilizer Bushings (no improvement)
New U joints (no improvement)
New Tires (no improvement)
New Rims (noticible imorovement)
All that I can think of is:
rear axl shafts
drive shaft
brake drums
What do you guys think?

Not sure what you mean. The vibes do not seem to be gear dependant. The vibes are most detectible in the 60 75 MPH range. If I spped up they smooth out but remain. Below 60 they are less previlent as well.

You can try putting it up on jackstands and running it in the air. If the vibes go away, most likely it is in the front end. If they are still there, disconnect the driveshaft. Some fluid may leak out, but then if the vibes go away, you narrow it down to a diveshaft/axle problem. Then you can try installing the DS 180 degrees out to see if this helps. If this doesn't help, pirate a different shaft and try. If it still vibes it prolly is an axle or unbalanced/bent rim.
If it vibes with the shaft out, it may be the TC, cracked flexplate....
Hope this helps.

don't rule out a broken mount....... mine has a vibration also. i replaced tires, balanced them again, again, again and i inspected my motor mounts. the drivers side is broken. i'm sure that is my porblem.

hey man.. dont know if this helps any but i had a bad vibration at about 1500 rpm at higher speeds.... like 40 +... also had a bad peck or tick and never could pinpoint it so i left it alone... now 2 weeks later im trying to find a friggin flywheel for a T5 because of that vibration. It was my torque convertor, it broke loose on the inside (which ive never heard of)
and that rippd my flywheel off of my crank... and now my 700R4 probably needs rebuilt...
But the 5 speed will be worth it all

Had the car up on jack stands. I am noticing slight movement in rear wheels. I am thinking it's the axl shafts or the drums are out of balance.
The left rear drum almost looks out of round while spinning when viewed from the front, however there is a counter weight on the opposite side. Anyone ever heard of a rear drum going out of balance?
