Am i supposed to be able to squel the tires in my camaro z28 on the 1/2 and 2/3 Shifts? With a stock auto tranny (700r4)??? i may be a moron but im wondering if the tranny is gonna need a rebuild or simply a flush?

ummm, no.

i'm not aware of any car that can chirp the tires when shifting with an auto.

i have no idea why it would do this. anybody have an idea?

i know on wet days i can spin throught 1st-2nd-3rd shifts.
but not on normal dry days.

It also depends alot on the tires you are running. If you have a performance P255ZR45-16 you probably won't hear any squeal at all. But a hard compound P215SR15 will probably light up on the 1-2 and 2-3. Gears and trans calibrations (servo) play a part (and of course hp!)

nah you didn't miss any sarcasm, most of the stock vehicles i have seen will not chirp unless your really pounding on them, but then again, i haven't really been around that many sports type cars, my friends and i started out messin with trucks,

the condition of the transmission makes a huge difference too,

it must be my tranny then.... REALLY firm shifts. cause i chirp then accidently just about everyday, going like 15-20 mph.. its enough to **** me off.. ESPECIALY turning!! why does my car does this? i can't accelerate quicky at all without fear of getting pulled over (again)...
